The band Terra D´Água was envisioned and created by cello-player and composer Davide Zaccaria. The band would surface as a consolidated project in 2004, with the release of their first album, “Viagem de um Som” (Journey of a Sound). The group consisted, at the time, of five musicians from the most different areas and countries, with the intent of creating a perfect harmony between a variety of music styles – such as jazz, classic, latin rhythms, improvised music and adult contemporary. Terra d’Água would return in full force in 2007, profiting from a highly matured work, which benefited from Zaccaria’s own experience. Giving central stage to Portuguese folk, the band produced what could be considered their masterpiece to date: “Terra do Zeca” (The Land of Zeca), a tribute album that intended to render homage to José (or “Zeca”) Afonso’s work – as a composer, a poet, and musician, with the special guest Dulce Pontes, Maria Anadon, Filipa Pais, Lucia Moniz and Uxia. With “Terra do Zeca”, the band travelled to Italy, for the celebrations of the Portuguese Presidency of the European Union. In 2008 a young singer Diana Castro who’s gonna be the voice lider in concert and in the new cd ("Canto Teu") and also wrote some of the lyrics among other musicians as Paulo de Carvalho, João Afonso, Zeca Medeiros. In October 2009, Pedro Mimoso is the new singer and the band are Davide Zaccaria (cello, guitar, loops), Jorge Pescara (mobius megatar), Alex Zuk (drums). They are preparing a new CD "O Rei Mauco"
